ARCHIPELAGO Nº2209
2022
Abstract Landscape by Gustaf Tidholm
No. 9 in the ARCHIPELAGO series
ARCHIPELAGO Nº2209 invites the viewer into a dreamlike seascape suspended between stillness and motion. Built in translucent layers of acrylic and water, the piece evokes an early dawn sky over a soft, shifting coastline.
Blush pink and icy blue hues blend and dissolve into each other, creating a luminous atmosphere that is both serene and ephemeral. The horizon is barely defined—only a suggestion—allowing space for memory and imagination to flow freely.
To me, ARCHIPELAGO Nº2209 is an exploration of light as place: a landscape shaped more by emotion than geography. It’s a quiet meditation on the in-between—the moments just before the world fully awakens.
