EL MAR No.2202
2022
Abstract Expressionism on fine art paper by the artist Gustaf Tidholm. This is the second artwork in the EL MAR series.
With this piece, I aim to deepen the sense of the ocean’s presence and its surroundings. It is an interpretation of water, wind, soil, and the effects of time - a reminder of the oceana’s eternal motion and transformation. The colors and tones capture the ocean’s energy and its natural scenery, where turquoise meets earthy browns and whites. It hints at horizons that fade into the distance and stories born and lost with every wave.
The ocean symbolizes both calm and strength, timelessness and movement. It reminds us of the importance of pausing and embracing the present, of being mindful in the moment, and discovering life’s deeper meaning.
The painting is created with a blend of turquoise, white, brown, and rust tones - a palette reflecting the interplay of the ocean’s hues and the erosion of time. The technique is executed with acrylic on Lana Vanguard Hi-Tech paper, a high-quality, acid-free material made of 100% polypropylene.
Framing: The artwork is tastefully framed in a simple oak-colored frame with thin plexiglass, which highlights the painting’s natural tones and clean expression.
Size: 50 x 70 cm.
